All Breeds Show Society-Summer Carnival

Firstly a massive congratulations to Lindy Leech and her committee, judges and stewards for a brilliantly run show. We had an enjoyable day with three ponies, taking our new barbie pony “Betty” for her first outing with us.

A massive thank you to Jodie and Tai Jones for leading and riding our ponies, we couldn’t have got through the day without you both. Another special thank you to Kristy Thompson  for making sure we were getting into all of our classes. And thank you to all others that gave us a hand on the day.

Anthony 'John' Burns

All the extended family would like to thank everyone who sent flowers, cards, messages, phone calls, John was a very popular man and the family were humbled with all the kind gestures.

  Had a quick ride and a bath before leaving 31/10/2021

Foaling down:

• All mares over-due that came for foaling down except one, who was a clients lovely standardbred who had a red bag and aborted foal 1-2 weeks early. We had our lovely galloway also have a red bag-our colt only survived 12 hours. Never had red bags and had two this year. Another standardbred had her foal in pouring rain and had to be shifted to foaling barn as couldnt get up and mare rejected foal for 8 hours (required veterinary assistance and lots of hours to assist the nuturing process). Other visiting standardbred had a dystocia and required Veterinary assistance to get foal out successfully. Last visiting standardbred had a text book delivery. Our four mares foaled successfully. Thank you to our local vets who provided assistance and the Bendigo equine Hospital who provided care for the visiting mare that lost foal (who required hospitalisation for nearly a week).

• We received Henry and Cotten's rugs from the Mildura Complex show. Our horses will wear these beautiful rugs to keep warm. Thank you.

• Time for the show team to return to the stables.

• Ponies have been spelling. Alannah has been busy breaking in other ponies and educating ponies and thoroughbreds.

• We have been busy weaning our thoroughbred foal and friend thoroughbred foals.

• We also purchased two youngsters to join the racing team (Pete and Glen)

Mildura Complex EV Annual Show

•  A great show with lots of classes and awards. We ventured off early in the morning just having to keep our eyes open dodging the kangaroos. We have personally thanked via facebook the sponsors as this it what makes this show a great show. Special thankyou to Mildura Rug Repairs and RT Automotive for sponsoring the two rugs we won. Out horses will wear them with pride.

• Highlights Were:

  • Uhavta Nice N Naughty-Supreme ridden open horse of show

  • Uhavta Negligee-Champion ridden small pony and did a beautiful work out in the supreme ridden

  • Now Or Never-Supreme Ridden Hunter of Show

  • Alannah-winner Smartest on Parade and Reserve Champion Rider.
