Our Broodmares:
Our Origins and Development Founded in Tempy (near Ouyen), Victoria, Uhavta began breeding in 1989. We moved to Swan Hill in the early 1990s, re-establishing the stud and improving access to studs, veterinary clinics, and shows. Our grandfather's thoroughbred training, which Helen continues successfully, instilled in us a deep understanding of horse conformation, weaning, handling, and breaking. Over the years, we have personally broken in and handled over 300 horses. Today, we professional train and focus on education from the start. Our family has a longstanding passion for horses, which continues to drive our efforts. Commitment to Quality We limit our breeding to a select number of ponies and thoroughbreds each year, ensuring each receives a solid start to their show careers. Utilizing both imported stallions and our own, we strive to produce elite ponies for the modern show ring. Our efforts have resulted in numerous awards, including Led Supremes and champions at Royal shows and under saddle. Visit our news and owners' pages for detailed achievements. Our horses' accolades are listed on our website, reflecting their own merits. Professional Involvement Helen and Maryjane serve on numerous judging panels, including National EA, SHCV (state and national), RPSBS, APSB, ASPA (also classifiers), Victorian Agricultural Shows Judges List (VAS Limited), Queensland Agricultural Shows List (QCAS), and the APHA (Australian Palomino Horsebreeders Association). Both have judged extensively across Australia, including the ponies at the Melbourne Royal Show and the EA Australasian Horse and Rider Championships 2014. Memberships
Past memberships include the Australian Stock Horse Association (ASHA), Australian Palomino Horsebreeders Association (APHA), and Australian Stud Saddle Pony Society (ASSPS). We have been blessed to have Alannah and Kyle in the team. Kyle has led numerous exhibits to wins across the countryside. Alannah is now the professional face of Uhavta. She leads the horses and does her own breaking into saddle.
Helen continues her success as a thoroughbred trainer and does love getting a tried horse and getting it to win races.
